Comics and Visual Storytelling Camp - with Izzy
June 15-19

Rising 7th-10th grade — 9:00am - 3:00pm — Cost: $400

Love reading comics and graphic novels? Drawing? Writing? Telling stories? This camp is for you. Izzy is teaming up with Hanger Hall alum Casey Russ to create the coolest week of comics camp yet. Casey is a Sequential Art major at Savannah College of Art and Design; he’ll bring his expertise in comics and storyboarding to this exciting week-long journey into the world of visual storytelling. Learn from comics greats and current innovators. Look forward to working with a range of exciting and high-quality tools: nibs, ink, brushes, markers and more. In addition to comics making, we’ll play games, eat snacks, and spend time in the sunshine. Camp fee includes: daily snacks and all art materials including a sketchbook and drawings tools to take home when we’re done.
It’s Alive! Stop Motion and Hand-Drawn Animation- with Izzy
June 22-26

Rising 6th-9th grade — 9:00am- 3:00pm — Cost: $400

Bring your art to life and make pictures move! This camp was a hit last year and will return this summer with even more exciting materials to explore. Learn about both stop-motion and classic hand-drawn animation. Animate at a lightboard and get a feel for how old-school Disney films were created. Bring your vision to life with a range of exciting animation materials like clay, dry erase markers, collage, drawing tools and more. Complete your mini-movies by adding sound effects and voice overs. Izzy brings over a decade of analog animation know-how to campers in a fun, approachable style. Leave with your own animated shorts, and skills to create flip-books, music videos, gifs and more. Camp fee includes daily snacks and all art materials.
Create your own Musical - with Izzy

9:00am- 3:00pm — Rising 5th - 8th grade —  Cost: $400

Are you a lover of musicals? Hamilton aficionado? Song writer or budding choreographer? Sign up for Hanger Hall’s first original musical summer camp. Izzy is joining forces with Kathryn Muller (Hanger Hall alum and fellow theater kid) to bring you a special week of camp. Work with your fellow campers to compose songs, create dances and write a script. We’ll put together costumes and end the week with a performance of our original mini-musical. It’s bound to be an exciting and fun-filled week, so get your voice warmed up and your dance shoes laced on tight. Camp fee includes daily snacks, prop and costume budget.
EMPOWER Summer Session #1
July 20-24
Rising 3rd-5th graders 9-3 $425

EMPOWER Summer Sessions are for rising 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade girls who want to combat the summer slide while also experiencing what Hanger Hall is all about. Campers will stretch their reading and math minds in fun and creative ways, all while engaging in various art projects and outdoor adventures! Led by local teachers.

EMPOWER Summer Session #2

Crafty Hoopla - with Kizzi and Beth

9:00am-4:00pm — Rising 5th-8th grade —Cost: $400

Students should expect a week filled with crafting, nature exploring, and game playing. We will spend our days adventuring around the Asheville area while collecting inspiration from and natural materials for our various crafts. This camp is all about playing and having fun while creating beautiful nature inspired art.
