Transition to High School

Prepared for What’s Ahead

After attending Hanger Hall, most students return back to public school with the majority graduating from Asheville High and SILSA. Others return to their county high schools. We currently have students attending Roberson, Owen, Reynolds, and Hendersonville High.

In recent years, we have seen an increase in the number of girls choosing independent schools such as Asheville School and Carolina Day. We also have several girls opting to continue with all-girls or other specialty schools. Hanger Hall graduates have also attended Chatham Hall in Virginia, North Carolina School for Math and Science, and the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts.

Hanger Hall is well known in the Asheville area, and our graduates have a well-deserved reputation of being prepared, organized, confident, and engaged. Our head of school is available to assist 8th grade families with their high school search. We provide all families with high school application information, and we share important dates and information related to high school admission topics.
