Hanger Hall Equity Statement

Hanger Hall School supports racial and social justice at our school and the broader community by cultivating a culture that pursues a deeper understanding of one another. We recognize that white supremacy, sexism, classism, xenophobia, ableism and gender discrimination are built into the very fabric of our society – constants that indelibly color the lives of millions on a daily basis. We aim to convert intention into positive action through honest reflection, critical dialogue and a willingness to do the work – both confronting these truths and building a world where they no longer exist.

Gender Equity
Hanger Hall is committed to fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect, as reflected in our Equity Statement. Our goal is to support all students in achieving their full potential by embracing and celebrating diversity in all its forms, including gender identity and expression.

As a single-gender school focused on empowering young women, we recognize that gender identity is a deeply personal journey. If a student expresses a desire to transition, our approach would be rooted in our commitment to inclusivity, student well-being, and open communication with the student and their family. While maintaining our mission of providing an empowering female-centered educational environment, we also strive to create a space where all students feel seen, valued, and supported.

These situations are addressed on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that the student's needs, the school’s values, and the collective well-being of the community are all thoughtfully considered. Our priority is to foster an educational environment where every student can thrive while staying true to the values of Hanger Hall.
