The curriculum at Hanger Hall reflects our emphasis on strong academics, creativity and personal growth. The program covers all requirements of the state of North Carolina and much, much more. Students experience a wide variety of learning opportunities through hands-on projects, field trips, and dramatic presentations. All girls participate in service learning projects throughout the community.
In everything from athletics to writing, strength and independence are emphasized. The girls at Hanger Hall study Languages all three years (we are one of only a very few middle schools offering a choice of languages), along with art, drama, and music. Students learn math and science in the classroom and then apply that knowledge outside. Hanger Hall regularly participates in the Math Counts competition and the North Carolina High School Math Competition. Field trips and class trips greatly enhance classroom learning. Our challenging academic program includes:
- Humanities (history, geography, literature and writing)
- Grammar
- Science (including lab experiences)
- Math (pre algebra, algebra)
- World language (French or Spanish)
- Computer Skills
- Athletics
- Art
- Music
- Drama
With our proximity to the Weaver Boulevard Greenway and the UNC Asheville campus, the girls spend many clear days outside. And, with such small class sizes, everyone gets the attention they need.
