I teach Spanish and 6th grade Humanities here at Hanger Hall! I have been with the school since 2005 and am thrilled to have witnessed so much positive change and growth over the past 14 years!
I grew up in Maryland as the youngest of my 4 red-headed siblings. I came to North Carolina straight out of high school to attend WCU and immediately knew this area was where I wanted to settle down. But a few years later, my then boyfriend, Casey, and I moved out to Lake Tahoe, California for one winter of snowboarding- and stayed for 4 years! It was out there that we were married and welcomed our first daughter, Eleanor, in 2002. We soon moved back east and settled in Swannanoa. Our next daughter, Violet, was born in 2006 and Lucille in 2009.
My Spanish degree comes from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, our new neighbor! I am looking forward to reconnecting with folks from UNCA to offer even more exciting opportunities for my Spanish students.
I love working with these amazing girls! My favorite part of teaching at Hanger Hall is how the girls stay in my class for three years. It is so fulfilling to watch these little girls grow academically and personally into incredible women right before our eyes.
