Permission to wait for and ride the bus

Dear Parents and Guardians:

We have had a request to allow a student to wait for, and take a city bus home from school.  As parents, it is certainly within your authority to allow your child to ride the city bus once the school day is over.  If you would like your daughter to wait for and take a city bus home, please review this letter carefully.  In addition, we ask that you complete and submit the permission slip, indicating your acknowledgement and willingness to allow your child to utilize this type of transportation.  Please have both parents/guardians sign the form.

We ask that you discuss appropriate safety measures on riding a city bus home from school with your daughter.  Once a student leaves the campus of Hanger Hall School to ride or wait for the bus, the student will no longer be under the supervision of the school and its staff and the school will not accept responsibilities for injuries.

Students who will be riding on a daily or intermittent basis need only to submit this online form once for the entire year.  No handwritten slips will be accepted.  All submissions will be verified by phone.

Students will not be allowed to ride the city bus home if they have not completed this form; no exceptions will be made.

We appreciate your understanding and support in this matter. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Catherine McClain, Head of School

Hanger Hall COVID-19 Updates

Hanger Hall Health & Safety

As a small school with small class sizes , we are confident in our capability to implement all health and safety recommendations to ensure a safe reopening, given the current guidance received from federal, state, and local levels of government.  Hanger Hall’s highest priority is the health and safety of our students, families, faculty and staff.

Our efforts to prepare for the upcoming school year is led by Hanger Hall’s leadership team under the guidance of a COVID-19 task force, comprised of Hanger Hall Staff, Board Members and Parent Volunteers who are in the Healthcare Field.  To support this priority, safety protocols will be in place for the 2020-21 school year.

This team is working over the summer to develop a variety of mitigation measures that will be implemented in classrooms, along with various contingency models so that Hanger Hall is prepared to support any COVID-!( related scenario within our school community.

Please visit this page regularly to receive additional communication related to school reopening that will be shared over the coming weeks.

One of the guiding principles in the development of Hanger Hall’s plan has always been to closely adhere to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidelines for the reopening of schools as well as public health guidance issued by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. You can find these health and safety protocols in our handbook and updates will be made here.
