Admissions Procedures

Thank you for your interest in Hanger Hall.  We look forward to receiving your application and meeting you and your daughter.  Please contact Katie Conner at admissions@hangerhall.org or 258-3600 if you have any questions about this process.

Admissions Calendar

The early admission deadline is November 1st of each year. Families who have completed the application process, and their daughters have had their shadow day, will be considered in the first round of admissions. Applicants reviewed in our early admission process will be notified the end of November regarding their acceptance. Families applying after November 1st will be reviewed on a rolling-admission cycle.

We encourage all families to apply no later than March 1st as our classes fill up early. If you apply after March 1st there is a strong possibility that you will be placed in the wait pool and not have a decision until mid-summer at the earliest.

The deadline to apply for Financial Aid is March 30th. If you are interested in applying for Financial Aid we encourage you to formerly apply to Hanger Hall sooner rather than later. If you apply after March 1st you will most likely be ineligible for financial aid.  Learn more about Financial Aid Procedures.

Families interested in applying to Hanger Hall should download and complete both the application and the teacher recommendation forms, and then return the completed forms to the school along with the nonrefundable $50 application fee.

Prospective Student Visit

All applicants are required to visit Hanger Hall for one full school day.  They will shadow a current student in order to experience a typical day at Hanger Hall, meet the student body and faculty and also be evaluated for Math and Language Arts skills. Please contact Katie Conner to schedule a visit.  Please note we are not able to schedule a shadow day until all of the admission materials are received.

Parent Conference

Head of School, Catherine McClain, will meet with applicant’s parents to answer questions about the school and learn more about the applicant.  Please contact Katie Conner to schedule a conference.

Mid-year Acceptances

New students may be accepted, provided there is space, until the end of the first week of the second semester (1st week of January.)  . We do not encourage transfers after that date except in unusual circumstances. Tuition is prorated for those students coming to Hanger Hall after the school year has begun.
