Danielle Gonzalez

Music Teacher

Danielle Gonzalez is starting her second year teaching music at Hanger Hall and is so excited to be back at school with all of the great Hanger Hall girls and women! Last year was Danielle’s first year of teaching and she could not be happier that she found her home at Hanger Hall.

Danielle grew up in Asheville and attended Carolina Day School. After graduating from CDS in 2006 she decided to pursue a degree in music education at Belmont University. While there Danielle realized her passion for teaching and the importance of music in schools while challenging herself vocally in some of Belmont’s top choirs. In 2010 Danielle graduated, got married to a wonderful man named Juan and got her first “real” job as the music teacher at Hanger Hall.

Music class is designed to be fun while also exposing girls to new types of music and cultures. It is a choral based class and the students spend time preparing for the Winter and Spring Arts Festivals. Last year at the Winter Arts Festival we explored holiday music from around the world as well as some favorites from our own backyard and in the spring we had fun singing pop songs recently performed on Glee. We also get to play musical games and use instruments to learn about rhythm.

Recently Danielle received an offer to teach part time at Carolina Day School as well and is happy that she will get to teach music at both schools this year.

Danielle loves musical theater and was recently cast as Darlene in Honky Tonk Angels at Asheville Community Theater.
