Leslie Humphrey is a former Hanger Hall parent and brings perspective to the current Board. She has an enduring connection with the founder, Howard Hanger and the earliest administrators. Her three daughters are alumnae; the youngest graduated in 2009. As the school has grown from three sixth graders in Howard’s basement to the 68 girls now at the Crest Mountain campus, Leslie has encouraged the development of a professional business strategy in order to share Howard’s vision with a broader population.
A graduate of Virginia Tech Architecture School (1987), Leslie owns Square Peg Construction with her husband David in Asheville. When not at work or gripping the dashboard while riding in the passenger seat with a daughter at the wheel, she enjoys cooking, gardening, trail-running with the family dog or laughing with the family. “Hanger Hall made a hugely positive impact on my girls to strive to do their best, to believe in themselves and launch cherished friendships- that’s success!”
